Appointed Positions

Chairman of Ceremonies

At the discretion of the Lodge Chief, with the approval from the Lodge Executive Committee, there shall be a Chairman of Ceremonies, if deemed necessary, to aid in the successful execution of Ceremony goals for the Lodge. This person will have no vote in the Lodge, except when acting as an appointee for an elected position. This person is responsible to the Vice Chief of Indian Affairs and works closely with him to ensure:
  1. Successful implementation of Ceremony teams for the Chapters and Lodge.
  2. Ceremonies teams for Conclave, Pow Wow, Ordeals, Scoutorama, and District Camporees have been prepared.
  3. There will be teams ready to compete at NOAC.

Trade-O-Ree Chairman

At the discretion of the Lodge Chief, with approval from the Lodge Executive Committee, there shall be a Trade-O-Ree Chairman, if deemed necessary, to aid in the successful execution of Trade-O-Ree for the Lodge. He will have no vote in the Lodge, except when acting as an appointee for an elected position. He will keep the Lodge Chief and Adviser informed at all times on matters and activities regarding Trade-O-Ree. This person is responsible to the Lodge Chief for the following:
  1. Ensuring host sites for Trade-O-Ree activities are coordinated.
  2. Organizing a Committee to collect and catalog items for the Trade-O-Ree.
  3. Ensuring the completion of a catalog of all Trade-O-Ree items is ready by the evening of the Trade-O-Ree.
  4. Electronically documenting all Trade-O-Ree items prior to the Trade-O-Ree allowing a reasonable amount of time for the items to be posted on the World Wide Web.
  5. Keeping records of all consignments regarding Trade-O-Ree and providing the Lodge Treasurer with information as to who and how much should get reimbursed.

Section Conclave Chairman

At the discretion of the Lodge Chief, with approval from the Lodge Executive Committee, there shall be a Section Conclave Chairman, if deemed necessary, to aid in the success of the Section Conclave for the Lodge. He will have no vote in the Lodge, except when acting as an appointee for an elected position. He will keep the Lodge Chief and Adviser informed at all times on matters and activities regarding the Section Conclave. This person is responsible to the Lodge Chief for the following:
  1. Working closely with all Chapter Chiefs to ensure their awareness of Section Conclave activities, expectations, etc.
  2. Acting as an aid to Chapter Chiefs to plan an effective Conclave (spirit items, travel, accommodations, expenses, etc).
  3. Acting as an aid to all Lodge Members ensuring participation form our Lodge in all events.
  4. Keeping the spirit of Wiatava Lodge at Conclave.

Lodge Editor

At the discretion of the Lodge Chief, with approval from the Lodge Executive Committee, there shall be a Lodge Editor, if deemed necessary, to aid the Lodge in effective communication. He will have no vote in the Lodge, except when acting as an appointee for an elected position. He will keep the Lodge Chief and Adviser informed at all times on matters and activities regarding Lodge Publications. This person is responsible to the Lodge Chief for the following:
  1. Working closely with the Lodge Secretary to produce a Lodge Newsletter and to maintain the Lodge website.
  2. Working with Chapter Secretaries and Editors to obtain Chapter news and articles for the Lodge Newsletter.
  3. Edits Lodge publications for spelling, grammar, syntax, and factual information.
  4. Functions as Lodge Secretary in his absence.
