OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Lodge Officers
-
Chief
-
Presides over all functions of the Lodge.
-
Represents the Lodge at area and national meetings.
-
Responsible for carrying our a program in keeping with the purpose and
principles of the Order of the Arrow.
-
Creates as many committees as deemed necessary for the operation of the Lodge
with the approval of the Lodge Executive committee.
-
Responsible for the carrying out of all other duties as may be required of the
top officer of such an organization.
-
Executive Vice Chief
-
Works closely with the Lodge Chief in order to be completely informed on all
phases of Lodge operation.
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for conducting the Elangomat Programs throughout
the Lodge.
-
Responsible specifically for:
-
Coordinating with the Chapters to ensure that the Elangomat program is actively
used.
-
to help the Chapters prepare for using the Elangomat program during Ordeals and
to properly train Elangomats.
-
To ensure that Elangomats and clans are specifically assigned.
-
To ensure that the Elangomats are active in maintaining clans throughout the
year.
-
To assist in re-affiliation by providing up to date information of Elangomat
clans.
-
Responsible for Lodge banquet.
-
Other duties as directed by the Lodge Chief

Functions as Lodge Chief in his absence.
-
Vice Chief of Service
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for the supervision of all activities related to
service.
-
Functions as Lodge Chief in the absence of the Lodge Chief and Executive Vice
Chief.
-
Vice Chief of Activities
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for the supervision of all coordinated Lodge
activities such as:
-
Fall Event
-
Scout Fair
-
Other duties as directed by the Lodge Chief.
-
Functions as Lodge Chief in the absence of the Lodge Chief, the Executive Vice
Chief, and the Vice Chief of service.

Vice Chief of Camp Promotion
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for supervision of all activities related to
Camp Promotion.
-
Makes a monthly report on camp promotion visitations, short term camping, long
term camp sign-ups, and problems that troops are having in getting a camp.
-
Responsible for keeping the Were-to-go Camping Book up to date.
-
Responsible for seeing that the Chapter Vice Chiefs and/or Chairmen of Camp
Promotion are fully informed and trained.
-
Responsible for the Camp Promotion Committee.
-
Other duties as directed by the Lodge Chief.
-
Functions as Lodge Chief in the absence of the Lodge Chief, the Executive Vice
Chief, the Vice Chief of Service, and the Vice Chief of Activities.
-
Chapter Camp Promotion Vice Chiefs and/or Committee chairmen are responsible to
the Lodge Vice Chief of Camp Promotion for items listed herein.

Vice Chief of Indian Affairs
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for the ceremonies and Indian artifacts of the
Lodge.
-
Responsible specifically for:
-
Brotherhood Ceremonies.
-
Lodge ceremony competition.
-
Assisting Chapters as may be required on call-out and Ordeal ceremonies.
-
Summer camp ceremonies.
-
Promotion and assistance with regalia and dance team.
-
Section conclaves related to Indian Affairs.
-
Other duties as directed by the Lodge Chief.
-
Functions as Lodge Chief in the absence of the Lodge Chief, the Executive Vice
Chief, the Vice Chief of Service, the Vice Chief of Activities, and the Vice
Chief of Camp Promotion.

Secretary
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for the following:
-
Minutes of all Lodge Executive Committee meetings.
-
Mailing to all Lodge Executive Committee members.
-
All Lodge correspondence.
-
Maintaining permanent records of all minutes and correspondence.
-
Unit Elections and Membership Committees.
-
Lodge mailing system.
-
Acts as Historian for the Lodge
-
Maintains Wiatava Lodge historical records.
-
Compiles and chronicles the Lodge events and happenings (from Lodge Dinner to
Lodge Dinner) in the form of a historical notebook containing competition
results, election results, major issues, photographs, etc.
-
Updates and maintains the Wiatava Lodge Memorabilia Collection.
-
Other duties as directed by the Lodge Chief.

Functions as Lodge Chief in the absence of the Lodge Chief and all Vice Chiefs.

Treasurer
-
Responsible to the Lodge Chief for:
-
Preparation and maintenance of an annual Lodge budget.
-
Financial records of the Lodge.
-
Financial records of specific Lodge activities.
-
Monthly financial reports.
-
Review of annual Chapter requests.
-
Finance Committee.
-
Any other financial requirements of the Lodge.
-
Immediate Past Lodge Chief
Advises the Lodge Chief and performs other duties as
required.
-
Advisers
In addition to the Lodge Adviser and Associate Lodge
Adviser
(3), there may be an adult adviser assigned to the other elected officers and
committee chairmen, as required.

Chapter Officers
-
Chief
-
Presides over all functions of the Chapter.
-
Represents the Chapter at all Lodge meetings.
-
Responsible for carrying out a program in keeping with the Order of the Arrow's
purposes and principles.

Assigns Chapter officers and members as operating chairmen of the Chapter
committees.
-
Creates as many committees as deemed necessary for operation of the Chapter
with the approval of the Chapter Executive Committee.
-
Responsible for carrying out other duties as maybe required by the top officer
of such an organization.
-
The Chapter Chief will be responsible to the various Lodge officers in their
area of responsibility.
-
The Chapter Chief and his officers are responsible for:
-
Camp Promotion.
-
Unit Elections.
-
Chapter records and input to the Lodge.
-
Ceremony Teams.
-
Calling out ceremonies.
-
Scoutorama.
-
Lodge newsletter articles.
-
Chapter program.
-
Other assigned responsibilities for Lodge activities.
-
Executive Vice Chief
-
Works closely with the Chief.
-
Handles any task as directed by the Chapter Chief.
-
Functions as Chief in the Chapter Chief's absence.
-
Vice Chiefs
Duties of other Chapter Vice Chiefs may be similar to those of the Lodge Vice
Chiefs and are directed by the Chapter Chief.

Secretary
-
Responsible to the Chapter Chief for the following:
-
Chapter membership committee (records).
-
Unit Elections Committee.
-
Current roster of paid Chapter members.
-
Maintaining mailing cards for the Chapter.
-
Minutes of all Chapter and Chapter Executive Committee meeting and maintaining
a permanent record.
-
All Chapter correspondence.
-
All Chapter mailings.
-
Any other assignments of the Chapter Chief.
-
Member of the Lodge Membership and Unit Elections Committee.
-
Functions as Chapter Chief in the absence of all Vice Chiefs and the Chapter
Chief.
-
Treasurer
-
Responsible to the Chapter Chief for the following:
-
Receive and receipt dues of all Chapter members.
-
Receive and receipts all fees for activities.
-
Delivering all money to the Council Service Center with the proper transmittal
sheets.
-
Preparation of the annual Chapter budget to be presented to the Lodge Treasurer.

Preparation and presentation of Chapter financial reports.
-
Any other assignments of the Chapter Chief.
-
Functions as Chapter chief in the absence of all other elected officers.

Immediate Past Chapter Chief
Advises the Chapter Chief

Chapter Advisers
Advisers will be assigned to Chapter officer and
committees, as required

Amendments
The duties herein can be changed by three-fourths (3/4) majority vote of all
voting members of the Lodge Executive Committee.
